How do we forgive our fathers?

The piece "How do we forgive our fathers?" was inspired by my own personal story and complicated relationship (or lack of relationship) with my father. Sometimes situations are so complex that they stay messy for a long time with no real resolution in sight. Some people get closure, revelations or apologies from their fathers... and some of us, in spite of our efforts, must live in the unknown with the unresolved. In this situation you realize that all you really have, all you can count on, is yourself.
